This past week, Sue and I went shopping and she bought so much fruit I had to laugh. Big bags of apples, grapefruit, oranges…and clementines. I am trying to work more high-quality food into my routine and there is no way I am going to eat too much fruit. We were splitting the oranges, and she gave me a few clementines. I tried a piece of one on Sunday just to see if I’d like it. I had one today along with a banana.
I have since decided that clementines are good. Like an orange, but small. They’re cute. Easier to peel. Peeling an orange is a bit of a project and that’s great when you have time, but I’m not a big fan of orange pith. Different flavor; it’s described as mandarin orange or tangerine. They remind me of tangerine Life Savers, of course. And they smell nice, it doesn’t hurt.
Anyway, show the kids this if you care to, or get them some clementines if you can find them. They’d probably make good grandkid food.
